Tabeirós is the name of this parish and also of an extensive región that has its roots in the Celtic times. The oldest reference is from the year 610, in the Cronicón iriense, where it is recorded that the Suebian king Miro placed Tabeirolos, along with other dioceses, under the head of Iria Flavia.
From the Romanesque temple we have preserved the rectangular apse, which incorporates a modern buttress. Inside the church, there are stilted semicircular arches and barrel vaults.
