The church of Ouzande is repeatedly mentioned in Castelao’s work, as well as in the oil painting Eirexa Románica (Romanesque Church) or in the drawing O Consello do Pai (The Father’s Advice). He drew the gable cross for the album As Cruces de Pedra na Galiza (Stone Crosses in Galicia).
The church preserves the volume of the nave and the semicircular apse from the Romanesque period. The absence of buttresses and decoration around the arrow-hole must have been due to some construction works.
